About NZ .NET User Groups

The New Zealand .NET User Groups is an Incorporated Society run by volunteers who want to help build community groups around Microsoft Technologies across New Zealand.
 
The members of the society are volunteers active in the community who organise and facilitate user groups. New Zealand has over 20 active user groups throughout the country that meet to learn and discuss areas of interest such as Microsoft.NET, SharePoint, SQL Server. Each user group tries to have a regular meeting once a month or every other month to share a presentation or discuss a topic. Funding is provided through the society for these user group sessions to provide free refreshments and food at each session and also help cover other costs such as travel for guest speakers from another region.
 
Each year the society members elects a committee to manage the funding of user group activities and to organise and support community activities such as this web site, code camps and user group speaker tours.
 
The committee is five roles that are President, Secretary, Treasurer, Online Office and Offline Officer.
