|  | If implemented as a point solution (to meet a single/specialised requirement) then SharePoints cost vs. benefit may not stack up.
The real value of SharePoint is as a platform:
- Multiple business requirements that can be met by the different capabilities of SharePoint
- Microsoft centric organisations that already have investment in MS technologies are more likely to get better cost/benefit from SharePoint

|  | When following recomended best practice many organisations will implement multiple SharePoitn farms DEV/UAT/PRODUCTION.
Note: Under some licensing agreements you are able to deploy DEV/UAT environments without the full cost of PROD licensing. Check with your Microsoft Partner...  |  |
